Helping Others to Succeed Inc. offers a variety of day program options, which expose individuals to a variety of community experiences. Our day programs provide experiences and activities that are stimulating, value-based and also encourage good physical and cognitive health. Daily activities are designed by staff based on the interest and personal goals of the participants and are intended to foster community involvement.
We are dedicated to meeting each individual’s needs and wants—whether they are looking to eventually find a job and need to learn new skills, or whether they need a daily schedule that works around their physical or cognitive challenges. We also offer people with disabilities prevocational training through their community-based activities.
Each day at our Day Program is different. There are scheduled recreational or volunteer activities and the offerings change as the seasons change. With the nicer weather individuals may visit parks and zoos, or attend sporting events while during the colder seasons they may participate in arts and crafts, theater and photography classes, trips to museums and libraries, bowling, computer training lab etc. Groups get together to discuss world and community events. Our services are outcome-based, focusing on assisting individuals gain and/or retain a specific skill of need or interest. All organized activities provide incidental learning opportunities and emphasis is placed on good physical and cognitive health.
